Hey Everyone, middle of the week is here!!
Last night myself and Nicky taught the new body pump release – 76!! its a hard release with some great tunes!!
Overall I really enjoyed it, I think the music for the warm up is a bit ‘soft for pump’ and also the choreography is a little dis-jointed. Squat track is MEGA!! with a good baseline, perfect for the intensity created!!
Chest track is also great – good song! The recommendation for weight from Les mills is to go a little higher than normal chest weight, I bit more (as I have a sore left shoulder at mo) and agree a little heavy is needed.
The back track is BIG! the new power combo is great for intensity and the wide rows will smash your rear delts and shoulders. Now having taught this one, the music has grown on me and matches the choreo well
Triceps is my stand out track of the release, really challanging and awesome song choice!! ”my first kiss……” wicked. The is a superset pattern which will really hit your triceps hard!
Again Biceps is hard and long………. lots of combos!! Big challenge overall for arms in this release.
Lunges is well put together – but remember to go hard on the squat section of the track (the same as squat weight from the squat track).
Shoulders is a really good mix/balance of exercises – no time for transition to bar, so gotta be quick at the end if you are moving to bar!!
I don’t feel the AB track is the hardest – due to the choreo being a bit dis-jointed, causing a lack of intensity – But i LOVE the plank option at the end, multi direction pointers!!
So thats what I think………. let me know your thoughts – I finished up the pump class and went straight into a Combat mix – not recommended as my shoulders are dying today!!
Hoping for my Combat music will turn up soon – so I can get learning it
